I create two avatars in the Yahoo! avatars. This is my first time to use this application to create avatars to present myself. I used to use the existing icon or put my personal pictures as the presenting icon in the msn or aim and I never thought about creating a avatar as my personal icon.

For an almost blindingly obvious reason, I chose the veterinary medical symbol as my professional avatar, due primarily to the fact that in my professional career, I plan on being a veterinarian. Although it can be important to establish some sort of personal relationship with a client in most fields out there, the medical field differs greatly, in general. It isn’t always a good thing to be a warm and cheery face. It can be very difficult to receive news regarding an inoperable tumor from someone with a smile on their face.

Examine your current Facebook profile. What image does your profile convey? Is it an accurate reflection of how you see yourself? Try looking at it as someone who didn't know you might look at it. How would they construct an understanding of your identity based on the information included there? Is there content that might create a negative impression for your audience?
I do not use Facebook as much as most people at Purdue but I do have an account that could possibly reveal quite a bit of personal information about who I am. Some of the information available on my Facebook page accurately represents me and some of it makes me seem like someone I am not. I believe that my profile page describes me pretty well. I list my interests, activities, favorite music etc. and nothing is really offensive or misleading or would cause someone who does not know me to form a bad opinion of me.
I have to admit when I first heard about this assignment I was a little worried. I see Facebook as a completely social tool and because of that I don't think I would want future employers (or teachers) checking me out on the face. I am not really embarrassed of anything that I have posted however me at the Cactus after one too many cups is not an image that I want everyone to judge me on.
